Occupational therapists create treatments that allow individuals to be able to regain and maintain skills for everyday living have been limited by injury, illness, disease, or disability.
They may show patients how to use special equipment like braces, wheelchairs, or eating aids or work with employers to create working environments that can accommodate the health needs of the patient.

Occupational therapists will also evaluate the living conditions of a patient, identifying areas that may cause falls or other injuries and recommending changes. Occupational therapists must have a master’s degree and are licensed by the state.
